I would like to thank everyone who attended our May Paint Class. Everyone did a wonderful job and finished beautiful picture frames to take home. We had lots of fun and made some new friends.

To buy or not to buy new furniture?

I am at the point in my life where downsizing sounds like a wonderful thing. However, I have a room in my house that desperately needed to be updated. So when the kids are gone and you have this old furniture that has seen better days do you buy new furniture, when downsizing is around the corner? I decided to paint the furniture and I am so excited how well it turned out. Please see the additional post about the bedroom and let me know what you think. Thanks

Bedroom 1: To buy or not to buy furniture?

I am always asking people who take one of my paint classes to take before and after pictures for me. Guess what, with the exception of a couple of pieces of furniture, I forgot to take the before pictures. Just try to imagine very Dark Cherry bedroom furniture as the before. My husband and I painted this bed and antiqued it with light and dark wax in about two hours, I could not believe how easy it was.

Bedroom 2: To buy or not to buy new furniture?

When you are revamping a room, don’t forget about the accent pieces. While redecorating this room I even painted the fluted curtain rods. If you have ever redecorated you know how expensive the small things can get. I painted an accent table and the picture frames over it to coordinate with the room. Painting the curtain rods, night stand, and other accent pieces left room in the budget to purchase cute pillows and other small decorations.

I hope this post will help if you are planning on redecorating a room or painting just one piece of furniture. I used Amy Howard at Home One Step Paint on the Furniture,(A Good Man Is Hard to Find) is the color. Clark and Kensington Paint and Primer in one on the walls. Next the bathroom cabinets! If you have any questions about these products or need help with your chalk paint project please give us a call. Thanks!
